Our Story

MayTree® 100% cashmere and merino wool products are high-quality basics that will bring you joy for a long time. All of our products are made with great care and love in Inner Mongolia. 70% of the world's cashmere wool comes from Inner Mongolia. The careful extraction and subsequent processing of cashmere wool into high-quality products is part of local tradition and culture.

When we launched the MayTree ® brand in winter 2017, we only had three SKUs (product units) in our range. We now have 40 beautiful, high-quality products. This is largely based on intensive personal relationships with local breeders, wool processing plants and product manufacturers. These are mostly family-run small and medium-sized businesses. We pay them above-average fair prices and maintain a lively exchange about product designs, coloring and production processes. At every meeting, we work together, celebrate and laugh a lot. Our children often play together. They are part of the same family.

All products are checked individually by us on site before shipping. Thanks to the great support of our local suppliers, we can add Merino wool products to our range in 2020.

In the future, we plan to further develop our product range to offer our customers more joy, beauty and warmth.

Last but not least: our goods are transported to Europe by rail for the sake of the environment. We are also working on various projects to make our products and trading activities even more environmentally friendly and sustainable. For example, we are working on reducing (plastic) product packaging. We will communicate new progress in a timely manner!
